Anonymous asked: Which of Warren's girlfriends have been your favorite? I've seen a fair amount of Stacy, Ali, and Bets on your tumblr, but which of the ladies do you think complements our resident flyboy best?

Haha oh gosh, Anon, that’s like asking me to choose between my favourite songs. It changes all the time, depends on the writer, story arc, etc etc and it’s actually much, MUCH easier for me to choose who I don’t like him with than it is for me to choose who I like him with best.

Candy Southern probably edges out everyone by a HAIR. She was totally a bamf being human and leading the Defenders and putting up with all of the crazy super hero crap that she did. Not only was she leading the Defenders, but she was RUNNING Southern International and making all of the important decisions FOR Warren at Worthington Industries at the same time (ie, when he was too young and inexperienced to give a crap about his family business). She was a socialite, like Warren, who loved her fashion and architecture, etc, but she was very SMART and took no shit lying down. Plus she managed to put up with him longer than anyone else, lol.

Honourable mention goes out to Officer Charlotte Jones, who was real as fuck and helped Warren out throughout his Archangel ordeal when he FIRST became the Horseman of Death. Yeah, that’s right, it was a human lady who was a single mom paying her bills by being a street cop and kicking ass & taking names. Honourable mention also to Dazzler (who’s fab for a million reasons) and Psylocke (who he essentially went to hell for/sold part of his soul for and who he died with).

Honestly, Warren’s had some epically awesome relationships that are often, for whatever reason, overshadowed by much shallower relationships in the books. Even his really short, one-two issue only lady friends have been fun to read. I think the silly adventures of him and Wanda could have been awesome if they’d shown more of that. I also liked Cat Lady from the Season One GN and the funny story where he was kidnapped by a ghost who bathed him as he was chained to the floor (Tuesday, was her name, from the Phantom Wings GN). But mostly just because that last one made me laugh really hard, okay? ;)

Thanks for the question!

“Oh, oops. What is this? My clothes seem to have frozen off! What should I do about this terrible accident? Warren?”

This is everything I ever wanted

Anonymous asked: Been "reading" your blog for a while and love it. Thanks for doing it. Second, the same people commenting on the wedding are the same trolls who comment on news sites, magazines, etc. they are loud and seem like a lot of people but they really aren't. Try not to get too upset. The loud minority in this country is only loud because they're are no longer winning and they're pissed about it.

Thank you.

It’s a telling thing when people can argue and cause an uproar over a comic with two guys in love when they’ve got no problem reading about Deadpool hacking people up or Daken using his powers to rape people or Punisher blowing off people’s heads. Priorities, right?

All I will say on the topic further is that I hope someday American queers can have their rights and freedoms like my country and others do. Good on Marvel for showcasing this, regardless if anyone thinks it’s a publicity stunt or not. This kind of thing deserves to be in the mainstream just like anyone else’s marriage and love does.

Have a good evening, everyone. :)

First homosexual wedding in a comic book, met with hatred.

myzebraspots:

Seeing all the anti-gay and racist comments on Marvel’s facebook page about a homosexual-interracial wedding in the X-Men comics not only scares me, but makes me angry as hell. It’s freakin TWO THOUSAND AND TWELVE, and we’re still having this issue? There are even racist comments on there because one of the characters is a black man.

Considering what the theme of the X-Men comics has been about for the past 50 years, which is tolerance and compassion in the face of prejudice and discrimination, I would hope that the fans would’ve been more accepting of this event.

This seriously makes me SO GLAD that I live in Los Angeles, and I have never encountered ignorance like this. I just feel bad every other gay or colored person in the country that has to deal with this hatred.

Yeaaaah, considering the whole POINT of the X-Men, it really makes you wonder why people like that were ever reading the books in the first place? SMH. I know, fantasy =/= reality but it still really fucking blows my mind.

It’s happening. Get over it, fuckers.
